I have attempted to start no less than five blogs since high school (when LiveJournal was THE thing to have). I posted on one fairly regularly but that was because I was suffering the particular brand of heartbreak that only teenagers have and the ex provided me with plenty of drama to write about. I tried a few in college but invariably I was distracted and the site sat unattended. I then wrote about teaching but lost my place when a friend passed away and somehow I couldn't rediscover the joy of writing about my life.
So this is an attempt to write every day. I love to read blogs. They are the first thing I check every morning when I boot up my computer. I read about newlyweds, mothers, children, fashion...anything that is remotely applicable to my life, I read about. I keep toying with the idea of writing full time like these women do--some work outside the home and view writing as a hobby but there are many who have monetized their sites and actually make a living from their words. Dream job for me. I'm not sure I have the talent to attract enough readers to make any money doing this, but I'll never find out if I can't even post regularly for a few months.
My plan is to attempt a blog challenge that will keep me writing every day. A 30-day deal, to be precise. One topic per day. It may be boring (both to write and for you to read!) but if I can actually post every day maybe I will have formed the habit by the end of October.
Here goes...
